Nutrition and Health (10 classroom hours/3 lab hours)

A comprehensive study which will educate the student in achieving and maintaining the greatest level of health through careful dietary planning and nutritional supplementation.  The student will learn to determine vitamin and mineral deficiencies as they correlate to specific health problems and be able to suggest the proper supplementation.  The importance of building and keeping a strong digestive system will be emphasized.

Beginning pH Balancing (6 classroom hours)

Maintaining the proper balance in the body's pH can positively affect all major body systems, especially the digestive, intestinal, circulatory, respiratory and immune systems.  This balance protects the oxygen affinity of hemoglobin in the blood.  A pH-balanced environment maintains proper metabolic function and allows the body to function optimally.

Nutritional Wellness (6 classroom hours)

Our health is created by the way we eat and drink.  This course will give you a comprehensive understanding of how poor nutrition can create "dis-ease" or disharmony in the body.  The student will gain knowledge of numerous popular diet plans (pro/cons) as well as the benefits of juicing and exercising.

Chemistry of Man (8 classroom hours)

This course students the life work of Dr. Bernard Jensen and V. G. Rocine and their pioneering research on the chemistry of food.  The intimiate association between food and health will be explored with a specific emphasis on how the chemical elements of food affect the shaping of human temperament.

Anatomy and Physiology

This course will provide the student with the general ability to identify the major organ systems as well as the parts and functions of the human body, stressing the function and interrelationships between organs, tissues and glands.  This will prepare the student to look at imbalances in the body with an holistic approach.

The Nutritional Consultant program has been approved by the Department of Higher Education, State of Colorado.  Classes are available online and taught in the classroom at the College of International Esthetics., www.internationalesthetics.com.
