Class Materials

Herbology (8 classroom hours/2 lab hours)   Individual class cost: $240.00
A comprehensive overview and understanding of the distinction of organic and inorganic substances and their effect on the human body. The use of herbs in the restoration of health to broken down constitutions will be studied. The four classifications of herbs, descriptions of their properties, actions, effects and applications for the treatment and prevention of disease will be studied in this course to provide a classic background in traditional herbology.

Herbal Preparations (6 classroom hours/2 lab hours) Individual class cost: $190.00

The course involves both the historical and medicinal uses of various herbal preparations. It will also focus on the identification of each herb, along with when and how best to collect the herb. Emphasis will be given to teas, infusions, extracts, tinctures, poultices, boluses and forgotten simple home remedies.

Chinese Herbology (6 classroom hours/2 lab hours) Individual class cost: $200.00

The course involves a comparison and contrast between Western medical science and traditional Chinese herbal medicine. A study of holistic health through the promotion of herbal medicine gives this course a unique perspective. The student will gain an enhanced understanding of the classification of herbal properties with a focus on Chinese herbs and their action on the vital organs of the body.

Nutrition and Health (10 classroom hours/3 lab hours) Individual class cost: $290.00
A comprehensive study which will educate the student in achieving and maintaining the greatest level of health through careful dietary planning and nutritional supplementation. The student will learn to determine vitamin and mineral deficiencies as they correlate to specific health problems and be able to suggest the proper supplementation.   The importances of building and keeping a strong digestive system will be emphasized.

Beginnning pH Balancing (6 classroom hours) Individual class cost: $190.00
Maintaining the proper balance in the body's pH can positively affect all major body systems, especially the digestive, intestinal, circulatory, respiratory and immune systems.  This balance protects the oxygen affinity of hemoglobin in the blood.  A pH-balanced environment maintains proper metabolic function and allows the body to function optimally.
